MADE IN USA

MATSU means "pine tree" in Japanese, and these socks, here in lichen (a soft, grey-green), are inspired by Japanese ink paintings of pine trees. I wanted them to feel like a poem, and I included this translation of a short poem by Shikishi Naishinnō on the label on the back of the socks:

Still in snow, the mountains are silent, yet the pine trees sing of spring
