These checkered socks – here in olive + leaf (a nice chartreuse) – are inspired by the checks on the sliding screens at the Shokin-tei Teahouse at Katsura Rikyū Imperial Villa in Kyoto, built in the 17th century (and one of the world's most beautiful architectural creations – please see the picture below!).

81% cotton, 16% nylon, 3% lycra
